Sunday morning I went with Zongda and Sophia across the street to the bakery however, after a few moments, I could tell that Sophia was distressed as it was not the same type of Sunday morning with granddad there so I took my pastry back to the apartment. |
Lots of carrying |
Fog is added for effect |
I was amazed at the walkway with each stone pressed into a lime and rice porridge mix |
This is also a place to dress up for the camera |
On several walls are amazing carved dragons |
The large garden had beautiful bridges with ducks sporting white afros |
Follow the hands on how to fold the dough |
The meat or veggie inside also has broth like a soup |
We all took a cab to Yu Garden, a traditional garden with period homes created by a government officer for his family in 1577, and an attached shopping area. Also while there we had lunch in a famous steamed bun restaurant
Returning home by 1 for afternoon naps and out again by four for a walk to a tap room for beer and some people watching.
Also across from the Taproom was a woman working in her laundry business |
I saw this woman taking my picture from the sidewalk across from the Tap Room so I returned the courtesy
Monday I accompany, Zongda and Sophia on the trip to school. Sophia is sad about going to school, but when she sees her teachers at the entrance, she is welcomed into their arms and we slip away.
Along the bund is a copy of the Wall Street bull with the tower we will visit in the background |
Zongda Sheri and I take a cab to the oriental Pearl radio, and TV Tower.
The Sprawling city of Shanghai |
It appears the stern of the boat is set up for crew or family with sitting areas and solar panels |
A lot of people would walk on and off the panels, but this country gentlemen would not be pulled onto the glass |
This is a great tourist attraction that offers views of the whole city from an observation deck and has a second observation deck with glass panels that are very intimidating. I watched workers replace a plastic film that they put over the glass almost like a screen protector for cell phones. The height didn’t seem to bother them.
Passing a restaurant having a meeting out front. Something more common I think in Asia. |
The three tallest buildings. The one on the right has a outer glass encasement. |
Zoom in on the picture to see the raised sidewalk around the rotary with beautiful garden in the middle |
We then walked on an elevated sidewalk around a beautiful rotary looking at the amazing skyline. At the end we are at Zongda’s office building for coffee in the lobby. I am learning no two coffee shops make the same type of coffee drinks. Now I am a more flexible coffee drinker!
Zongda and I go for a late lunch at a noodle shop that he says is highly regarded in the area.
No private table. When a space opens up, you sit down and order |
We each get a big bowl of noodles with a piece of barbecued pork on the top. It was very good and very filling.
Next a high-speed train to visit his parents.
Thanks for the link! Great photos
