Seeing Shanghai in bits

We told them we would be happy just hanging out in the apartment but there were things that they still wanted us to see/do and I suspect we were a good reason to do their favorite things again.
Zoom in on this Starbucks…it’s huge
The next outing was to Shanghai’s largest Starbucks complete with a roaster and packaging on the first floor and a full alcohol bar on the second.
Coffee in China is not just coffee, milk, sugar but rather a taste experience. I just stopped asking for a just plain regular
This like most places requires a lot of people posing in front of everything.
After coffee a nap in the sun for Benson as we watch the traffic roll by
Trips are scheduled around naps and feedings so after nap it’s drink and appetizer time on their patio.
A nice late afternoon on the balcony
While sitting outside in the fresh air and plants you don’t think about the hundreds of people surrounding us who are part of this as well.Makes my backyard in Camden seem so much more private.
The next day I get up early and head out for a long walk back to the big park to take time my time there and appreciate it.
Early Morning exercise/movement
Returning I work on the blog till we all walk over to get Sophia at school, and to my Birthday dinner at an Irish pub where the Chinese workers wear shirts that say 0% Irish.

We returned to enjoy a carrot cake with a candle (a #2 left over from Sophia)
First time celebrating a day early
that Lindsey had delivered as well as a Chinese Olympic t shirt that was made near Zongda’s home.
Family,cake, and even a gift
Great celebration thanks
This is why we came
There are a lot of parks around the city for the 24 million people to enjoy. Our next destination is a coffee shop that they like, and we were able to get a couple of flights of specialty coffee to enjoy.

Another coffee experience
Went out during the afternoon to a small local park called  Shauxing Park. This is a nice city to walk around
All the walkways have inlaid river stone patterns

I like the bonsai trees

A walk in the rain to the park

Interesting alleyways and architecture throughout the French concession

Areas that were built prior to the Japanese invasion
